JOB SUMMARY

Under the immediate direction of the Production Supervisor, the Team Coordinator is responsible for the daily operation of the rail/shipping, quarry and production teams, as well as the maintenance needs of the group. This position will coordinate with the management and administrative positions.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Lead, direct and coordinate the efforts of the team towards a common goal as set forth in the business and profit plans.
  • Act as a mentor to less experienced team members.
  • Must establish and maintain effective communications within plant operations, and the administrative staff.
  • Maintain appearance and housekeeping of assigned areas and equipment.
  • Make regular walk through inspections for safety, housekeeping and mechanical issues in all areas of responsibilities.
  • Implement and apply all safety rules, regulations and procedures of mine and property as set forth by the Oklahoma Department of Mines and Minerals, MSHA, Martin Marietta Corporate and plant policies
  • Hold regular team meetings to discuss results, plans, ideas, etc.
  • Keep teammates informed as to their performance on a regular basis by providing key indicator plan and results.
  • Participate on the safety committee.
  • Perform annual performance evaluations on team members.
  • Demonstrate a positive attitude and energy level towards teammates, peers, and customers; both internal and external.
  • Willing and able to cross train throughout the Quarry, Primary, Secondary, and Rail/Shipping.

MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Minimum 3 to 5 years experience preferably in aggregates industry.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Possess and maintain current Oklahoma Supervisors Certification.
  • Effective coordination and communication skills (written and verbal).
  • Understand team based management
  • Computer skills to include utilization
  • Self-starter with ability to work with little or no supervision.
  • Complete understanding of the Martin Marietta human resources and safety policies

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Must be able to climb stairs to a height of 75 ft. up to 8 times daily.
  • Bending, stooping, climbing and reaching around all areas of mobile equipment.
  • Will be required to lift up to 75 lbs. as needed.
  • Must be able to walk across steep/rough terrain up to 200 yards.
  • Ability to use hand tools such as wrenches screwdrivers, etc.
  • Must be able to work outside in all weather conditions (heat, cold, dust, wetness, dryness, etc.).
  • Must be able to work in areas where noise levels are up to 90 dbs.
  • Must be able to perform duties in a safe manner. This job requires the ability to wear a hard hat, safety glasses, steel-toed boots and hearing protection.

WORKING CONDITIONS

  • Must be able to work in areas where noise levels are up to 90 l bs.
  • Will work in varied environments (in all weather conditions heat, cold, wet, humid, dry and/or dusty conditions).
  • Exposure to cement, clay, limestone, shale, and other raw materials and various chemicals, solvents and lubricants.
