POSITION SUMMARY

The Terminal Coordinator position will report to the Terminal Manager.  He will be responsible for assisting the Terminal Manager in the daily operations of the Cement Termina1s in South Texas.  This position will assist in the daily production and problem solving operational functions.    

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead, direct and coordinate the efforts of the team towards a common goal as set forth in the business and profit plans.
  • This person will be involved in decision making and solving daily production problems
  • Fill-in for employees while they are on vacation or when they request for assistance in order to meet production and maximize terminal performance.
  • Act as a mentor to less experienced team members.
  • Must establish and maintain effective communications within plant operations, and the administrative staff.
  • Maintain appearance and housekeeping of assigned areas and equipment.
  • Make regular walk through inspections for safety, housekeeping and mechanical issues in all areas of responsibilities.
  • Implement and apply all safety rules, regulations and procedures as set forth by OSHA, MM Corporate and plant policies
  • Provide leadership at the absence of the Terminal Manager.
  • Conduct plant safety meetings.
  • Demonstrate a positive, upbeat attitude and energy level towards teammates, peers, and customers; both internal and external.
  • Other special projects as assigned by the Terminal Manager.

REQUIREMENTS

  • 3 to 5 years’ experience.
  • Effective coordination and communication skills (written and verbal).
  • Understand team based management
  • Some computer skills (MS Office and E-mail)
  • Self-starter with ability to work with little or no supervision.
  • Complete understanding of the MM human resources and safety policies.
  • Ability to travel overnight when required.
  • Must be able to pass motor vehicle hand driver’s license check.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Bending, stooping, climbing and reaching around all areas of mobile equipment.
  • Will be required to lift up to 60 lbs. as needed.
  • Must be able to walk across steep/rough terrain up to 200 yards.
  • Ability to use hand tools such as wrenches, screwdrivers, etc.
  • Must be able to work outside in all weather conditions (heat, cold, dust, wetness, dryness, etc.).
  • Must be able to work in areas where noise levels are up to 90 dbs.
  • Must be able to perform duties in a safe manner. This job requires the ability to wear a hard hat, safety glasses, steel-toed boots and hearing protection.
