Job Responsibilities
1) Order Parts: can include assisting mechanics in identifying appropriate components over the phone, using both physical manuals and on-line parts manuals. Mastering Martin Marietta J.D. Edwards software and vendor software is a necessity for this position.
2) Answer phone calls and take messages: equipment outages, locations, severity of issue reported, and business need for the equipment must be noted. Communicate all issues with the shop foreman and superintendent promptly. Establish good work-relationships with all vendors.
3) Create and maintain work orders: this includes creating work orders for field mechanics requiring parts, if no existing work order is found. Update work orders with part order date, estimate of costs for parts, and estimated delivery date. Further update work order when parts are received to
to reflect appropriate status.
4) Track & charge out consignment parts: this includes filters, sample bottles, batteries, Hydraulic Supply parts, consignment cylinders from Hannon & Brake Supply, and all parts pulled from Holt store.
5) Receive parts promptly: upon delivery or at the start of shift for early a.m. delivered parts. Ensure work orders and unit numbers are recorded on every part, and all parts are grouped per work order/asset. Ensure received parts match order and filter kits for PMs are complete. (This
includes pulling appropriate parts from consignment to complete kits.)
6) Return parts diligently: ensure all parts are tracked and credit (issue GRs) is returned to the appropriate business unit in a timely manner. (Weekly at the latest.)
7) Assist with all cycle counts related to consignment stock: Inventory control and verification is a key requirement of this position.
8) Orders in JD Edwards: received orders must be completed on a daily basis. Follow up open orders to prevent past due status. Ensure all unprocessed orders are immediately addressed and corrected.
9) Keep an accurate log: all parts ordered, including P-card purchases made, must be entered by plant business unit & asset number. (Log must be up-to-date on a daily basis.)
Job Requirements
- Candidate should be highly organized and a proven self-starter, with strong computer skills and excellent customer service and communication skills. Experience with purchase orders, parts inventory, and parts identification is required.
- Job hours are Monday through Friday, 5 a.m. to 5 p.m., 60 hours per week. Pay is negotiable, depending on experience.
